Terms of Service

Last updated: April 10, 2026

1. Service

Crouter provides an API proxy service that gives you access to AI models including Claude (Haiku, Sonnet, and Opus), GPT, and Gemini through standard API formats. You can use your API key in any tool or application that supports the Anthropic or OpenAI API format, including Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, Cline, Aider, and your own applications. We do not restrict where or how you use your API key.

2. Accounts

You must create an account to use Crouter. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials and API key secure. Do not share your API key with others. One active API key per account at a time.

3. Billing

Crouter uses a monthly subscription model. You choose a plan (Basic, Plus, Pro, or Ultra) and are billed monthly. Each plan includes a set amount of API usage value. You can upgrade or cancel your plan at any time. Downgrades are not available. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

4. Refunds

We offer refunds for unused credit with a valid reason, such as service issues or dissatisfaction with our platform. Credits that have already been consumed through API usage cannot be refunded. Stripe processing fees are non-refundable as they are charged by a third party and are outside our control. The refund amount will be your payment minus any consumed usage and the Stripe processing fee. To request a refund, contact us at contact@crouter.dev.

5. Rate Limits

Rate limits vary by plan. All plans include generous request limits designed for heavy development use. If you need higher limits, contact us at contact@crouter.dev and we will accommodate your needs.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Crouter for any illegal or harmful purposes. You must comply with the usage policies of the underlying model providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google) when using their models through our service. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

7. Service Availability

Crouter proxies requests to upstream AI providers. Our uptime depends on the availability of those providers' infrastructure. We do not guarantee any specific uptime percentage. If your plan's usage is fully consumed, you will be billed at overage rates to keep your service running without interruption.

8. Limitation of Liability

Crouter is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the current billing period.

9. Changes

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of Crouter after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will notify you of significant changes via email.
